We are enjoying the Band of Brothers from the Church of God in Pendleton Oregon this 3rd week. It is a privilege & honor to share the week with Jim, Allen, Tom, Calvin, Mike, Bill, Robert, Nate, Rick, and Gary. They are an inspiring bunch of guys whose love for the Lord is evident.

The fish are in but the catching started out slow this week. They are quickly making up for it and should have plenty of silvers to take home. It is absolutely unbelievable seeing the fish podding & finning. They are everywhere. I’ve taken plenty of video I’d like to post. The upload speed is slow here so I may have to have some of these campers upload for me when they get home. The size is amazing as well. We are catching a lot of large fat fish. Much bigger than usual.

We’ve had a couple of great halibut trips, limiting out with 14 the first trip & 12 the second. The boat is running great & the weather has been good.

Pastor Dave is leading the meetings this week & next & they have been great, very inspiring & touching the heart. Worship has been outstanding.

Pictures coming soon.

God Bless

Well the second week of camp is complete & what a week it was! We want to thank campers Doug, Kay, Nick, Nate, Ben, Dave, Howard Jr, Howard III, Don for a great week. You were enthusiastic, encouraging & a fun group to spend the week with. We appreciated your interaction during the Bible Studies. We will miss you. Also a special thanks to the Schachers for all your help.

We went on two trips for halibut this week. We brought back 7 halibut the first trip & 14 halibut the second trip. We also caugt a variety of rockfish, cod, arrow tooth, shark, and greenling.

Everyone caught fish and we ended with a weeks count of 137 silvers, making the total 490 silvers for the season. The fish are definitely bigger this year.

Actually they really are, averaging betweek 12 & 14 lbs.

Aside from fishing, some of the group went on a forest service guided cave tour at El Capitan. Other sight seeing activities included Red Bay Lake, Cavern Lake & Beaver Falls.

Of special note this week Kay Stout has hooked her husband twice, Once 20 years ago when they were married, and the second time this week at fish camp.

Here is Doug & Kay still smiling at each other.

God is good. We removed the hook & there was no swelling, soreness or infection. You could not even tell he’d been hooked and it did not slow down his fishing at all. In fact after he was hooked he was insistent on mooring the boat out on the buoy & using the rowboat to go to shore instead of just coming in. He is one tough guy as we had to push the individual barbs on through the skin to remove the hook. He just gritted his teeth & said “Getter Done” We’ve got video. I’ll post it once I get it uploaded.

We are looking forward to 10 new campers from a church group in Pendleton this next week. Praise God the water tank is full & all the boats are running.

This week seemed to fly past. I can’t believe it’s already over. We say goodbye to Joel, Bill, Mike B, Wes, Mike H, Eric, Jim & Debbie. Howard III, Howard Jr, and Don will stay on for one more week.

God has blessed us with a great week.  The fish count for the week was around 250 silvers, bringing the total up to about 350.  A special thanks to Pasor Bill and his thought provoking messages.
